Of all Alfa Romeo 145 modifications produced from 1994 to 2000 real fuel consumption according to user ratings is approximately 4% higher compared to advertised consumption. For petrol engines real consumption is in average 6% higher, but for diesel engines is similar to manufacturer's stated consumption. Starting from 1994 Alfa Romeo 145 average difference between actual owner-reported fuel consumption and stated consumption was similar to average, at 1995 it was slightly above industry average, at 1997 difference became significantly higher than average and finally at 2000 difference between owner-reported and advertised fuel economy became less than industry average.
