Of all SAAB 900 modifications produced from 1984 to 1998 real fuel consumption according to user ratings is similar compared to advertised consumption. Starting from 1993 SAAB 900 average difference between actual owner-reported fuel consumption and stated consumption was similar to average, at 1996 difference between owner-reported and advertised fuel economy became slightly above industry average.
