Of all Audi 100 modifications produced from 1982 to 1994 real fuel consumption according to user ratings is approximately 6% higher compared to advertised consumption. For petrol engines real consumption is in average 4% higher, but for diesel engines is approximately 7% higher. Starting from 1990 Audi 100 average difference between actual owner-reported fuel consumption and stated consumption was significantly higher than average, at 1991 difference between owner-reported and advertised fuel economy became slightly above industry average.
