Mercedes A class fuel consumption
Of all Mercedes A class modifications produced from 1997 to 2018 real fuel consumption according to user ratings is approximately 23% higher compared to advertised consumption. For petrol engines real consumption is in average 21% higher, but for diesel engines is approximately 24% higher. Starting from 1997 Mercedes A class average difference between actual owner-reported fuel consumption and stated consumption was slightly above industry average, at 2005 it was significantly higher than average, at 2011 difference became slightly above industry average and finally at 2012 difference between owner-reported and advertised fuel economy became significantly higher than average. Of course, it should be noted that the gap between advertised and actual fuel economy changed quite significantly across the entire automotive industry during this period.
