Real fuel consumption of a cars
We have aggregated actual fuel economy from user reviews and a variety of sources and compared it to the advertised fuel economy. We have fuel consumption statistics for approximately 500 car models, over 2000 generations, and more than 15,000 versions, based on the experiences of over 750,000 car owners.

According to user reports, real -world fuel consumption is on average about 20% higher than advertised . This difference tends to be higher for newer cars - drivers claim that cars less than 10 years old consume on average 30% more than advertised, while for older cars this difference is on average up to 10%.
To compare the fuel efficiency of cars, we offer a "Fuel efficiency score " which shows the fuel efficiency (higher score is better) of similar cars (by engine power, application, etc.). More about "Fuel efficiency score"

1 Average real fuel consumption difference indicates average difference between advertised fuel economy and real-world fuel economy reported by users, and is averaged across all of the manufacturer's vehicle models. For more information on specific models, click on the manufacturer's name.
2 The fuel efficiency score evaluates the fuel efficiency of all vehicles from this manufacturer compared to similar vehicles by engine size, horsepower, body type, age, etc.. For example, a fuel efficiency score of 3 means that about 70% of similar cars are more fuel efficient. The score is calculated taking into account both advertised and actual fuel consumption.
User-reported fuel consumption may not accurately represent all users' experiences due to variables such as driving conditions, driving style, technical condition of the vehicle, and other circumstances. Thus, it should not be relied upon as a representative indicator.
